Schneider Park’s first phase of construction is complete!

The culmination of many years of planning, fund-raising, design, and construction: the new Schneider Park soccer complex is open! As the only public space dedicated to soccer within the City of Toledo, it’s an important milestone for Toledo’s youth.

It’s also personal for its champions: MSG’s Sally Gladwell, Joe Fausnaugh, City of Toledo, and Yousef Aliakbar, Toledo Celtics Soccer Club. Schneider Park became a communal effort around which so many people and groups have rallied behind, including U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, and Toledo City Council, among others.

Following the ribbon cutting, players from Pacesetter Soccer Club's Glass City TOPSoccer, a program providing an important facet of inclusivity that is integral to this project, took the field to run drills and enjoy the beautiful game.
